PowerBI Apps 1/5

This week we are going to cover what a PowerBI App is and why we would want to build and use one.

At the highest level, a PBI App is a way to bundle reports, dashboards, and external links that we want to share with our audience. IMO the main benefit of an App is the clean look and feel to share multiple different report pages. We can give our audience direct access to the app so they don’t have to see all the other materials that may be noise and distracting.

A quick idea of what this looks like:

The left-hand navigation has the list of reports and report pages. You can break them out into different folders and can add external links to other important material you want to share. This differs from a workspace – we will cover the differences between apps and workspaces tomorrow.
