Data Modeling 101

You can learn to become a solid data modeler by always asking yourself 3 questions:

One – what makes a row in this data element unique?

Two – how do we decorate this data element with attributes that make it important?

Three – how does this data element relate to other data elements?

These basics can be applied to multiple data modeling approaches. I’ll cover some of the best approaches in upcoming posts along with examples.
